Results from our D&WW Chamber survey of members show the majority of businesses admit cashflow is their most pressing issue, followed by costs, footfall and regulations.

Over 140 business owners, representing half the Chamber membership, responded to the short survey assessing their biggest concerns heading into the next 12 months. The results were stark – almost 60% of businesses said cashflow is their biggest concern.

When questioned about which activities members feel the Chamber should prioritise presently and into the future the answers were also clear. Nearly 70% said their number one priority was for the D&WW Chamber to focus on the promotion of Dungarvan & West Waterford! This was followed by 56% with a second preference that the Chamber work on their behalf to influence town development plans. Next in line was the importance of continued lobbying on local issues and national Issues.

Now representing over 3,000 employees and close to 290 members, the D&WWC has been delighted to welcome a significant number of new member businesses since the start of the Covid-19 crisis. ‘Being part of a network’ was the top reason for given for Chamber membership the answers showed, followed by ‘Information, updates, support & advice for business’ , next in line was Lobbying issues and also to support Town Progression.

The Chamber is grateful to all the businesses who took the time to participate in the survey. The Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber can now begin to set out post-Covid plans to support and benefit the entire region, confident that they are representing members’ priorities.
