An Taoiseach Micheál Martin met with Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber members to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing businesses at a Chamber-organised forum on future-proofing Dungarvan & West Waterford as a place to live, work, stay & play.

True to the geographical area, which offers a very diverse range of business sectors, a wide range of industries were represented at this event. So too were businesses of all sizes, from one person operations right through to larger employers.

Speaking about the session with the Chamber Members, the Taoiseach said: “The past 18 months have shown the extraordinary adaptability, initiative, and resilience of the business community here in west Waterford, and across the country.

“As we emerge from the necessary pandemic public health restrictions, to reopen trade and connectivity, Government will continue to help businesses in their recovery, to innovate and flourish.

“We will ensure that Ireland’s regional cities continue to thrive by investing in projects and programmes that energise and invigorate regions across the country.”

The Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber represents a membership base of 300 businesses working on behalf of its 3500 employees. The Chamber is active across a wide range & scale of businesses in the region – from a sole trader in Lismore to a large multinational in Dungarvan. The D&WW Chamber understands the challenges being faced at every phase of the business pipeline and works tirelessly to overcome local and national barriers in order to effectively promote Dungarvan & West Waterford as a fantastic place to live, work and deliver sustainable business.
