The Park Hotel Dungarvan is currently recruiting an experienced Night Shift Supervisor to join our team. Candidates must be fluent in English and have a minimum of 1 year’s previous experience working in a hotel.
JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Night Shift Supervisor.
DEPARTMENT: Front of House
OBJECTIVE:
Responsibility for the security of the hotel and its guests overnight and set meeting and private dining rooms to exceptional standard and to guests’ specification.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the service offered by all team members is exceptional and memorable.
- Handle, follow up and communicate any comments or complaints promptly. Pass on to relevant HOD’s or Managers if necessary.
- Be familiar with and promote hotel facilities and attractions within the area.
- Assist guests with any requests e.g. information, making bookings, directions.
- Ensure all tasks are completed on each shift and a thorough handover takes place at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Ensure you have a well-founded understanding of all Hotel regulations.
- Perform any related security duties as required overnight by walking all areas of the hotel on a regular basis.
- Record any unusual occurrences or problems arising to the Duty Managers attention for the next day and take appropriate action.
- Ensure all access to the hotel is secure as required by hotel policy and procedure.
- Complete all incident reports and distribute to relevant departments.
- Communicate, work with, and build a good working relationship with Front Office Day team to ensure a consistent level of service is offered throughout the hotel 24 hours a day.
- Ensure public areas are always clean and tidy.
- In conjunction with the Head Housekeeper, clean public area carpets on a regular basis, with additional cleaning as and when required.
- Check in late arrivals and check out early departures in line with hotel procedures.
- Ensure that wake up calls are made promptly.
- Take room service orders, prepare the food and drink, and deliver to guests.
- Provide service in the Bar after the late shift team members have finished their shift and handle all cashing up in line with SOP’s.
- Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency procedures.
- Attend all fire, health, and safety training to ensure the safety of all within the property.

The Kitchen Porter will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen’s by maintaining cleanliness and supporting the kitchen team in various tasks.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient cleaning of the back house areas, including plate wash, pot wash, canteen, still room, kitchen, and fridges.
- To ensure that the stairs and rubbish area outside are always kept clean and tidy. The rubbish is compacted down and stored correctly, and the bottle bin is emptied on a daily basis.
- To ensure that all cleaning schedules are followed and adhered to. And that all deep cleaning is checked and signed off by a HOD.
Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is advantageous but not required.
