HOST FAMILY CO-ORDINATOR
The Language People

The Language People is looking for someone to co-ordinate host families for their 2025 international student programme.

This is initially a short-term project stating immediately until end of May to

  • book host families for students who are staying in Dungarvan and surrounding areas for short periods over the summer
  • recruit new families for the summer
  • sign all families up to relevant policies and procedures
  • update all files, agencies and hosts with relevant information

This role would suit somebody with local knowledge of the area and who is outgoing and confident.

Requirements

  • 15 to 20 hours a week
  • good organisational and computer skills with good command of detail
  • hybrid working possible (office and home) or entirely office based

The role could extend beyond May subject to satisfactory completion of the hosting project.

TEACHERS
The Language People

We are looking for any 3rd level student currently doing a degree in education to teach English as foreign language to our students during the summer. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience.

The Language People is a language school providing several English language programmes for non-native students to learn English in Ireland. We are based in Dungarvan.

We are looking for teachers for our summer programmes who live in the Dungarvan / Lismore / Tallow / Youghal area to teach English as a foreign language to groups of teenagers aged 11-17.

Requirements:

  • be able to have 4 students in their own home from 9am to 1pm from Monday to Friday
  • have a full clean Irish Driving Licence
  • have own transport to drive students to and from activities

Responsibilities:

  • teaching English as a foreign language to groups of teenagers aged 11-17
  • planning classes in accordance with the programme syllabus
  • preparing class materials
  • preparing end-of-week progress reports
  • ensuring wellbeing and safety of all participants
  • working closely with and supporting the management team, liaising with group leaders when necessary

Duration: 3-weeks, full-time hour or 6 weeks, full-time hours

Payment: €120 per day

SUPERVISOR – DUNGARVAN CMT COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SCHEME

Role & Responsibilities

  • Efficient administration of CE scheme.
  • Identify training needs of individual participants, and plan and procure approved training opportunities for them.
  • Co-ordinate the recruitment of CE applicants in accordance with the Department’s CE recruitment and referral processes.
  • Supervise, schedule, and manage participants, and ensure provision of safe working environment for them.
  • Financial Monitoring and Programme & Training Monitoring in accordance with CE Operating Procedures and in co-operation with Departmental monitoring.
  • Management of progression of CE Participants.
  • Ensure the provision of an efficient financial and accounting system in line with CE corporate governance requirements as directed by the Sponsoring Organisation.

CE Supervisor – Personal Specification

  • Display knowledge, responsibility, commitment, and motivation to implement the objectives of the CE Programme.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with jobseekers and with Board.

Qualifications: Major Award at 3rd Level of NFQ Level 6 or higher, preferably in Business/Financial Administration, Training, Human Resources, Project Management. ICT skills essential (e.g. MS Office).

The position is a 39-hour week exclusive of lunch breaks. The starting salary would be €35,990.76 (€692.13 p/w), i.e. point 1 of the supervisor scale, while the top of the scale after 3 years subject to satisfactory performance would be €43,468.88 (€835.94 p/w). This position is funded by the Department of Social Protection and subject to this ongoing funding. Dungarvan CMT is an equal opportunities employer.

Recruitment – TA / On-boarding and Induction

  • Assist with providing accurate data reports from Workday & payroll as requested.
  • Assist managers in annual database cleansing/preparing for the next year, ensuring tasks are completed on time.

HR Administration

  • Support the full employee life cycle.
  • Carry out general administration tasks for the HR Department, for example, responding to queries, devising standard Human Resource documents and letters.
  • Respond to reference requests for current or ex-members of staff, direct to appropriate ticket.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Procedures Manual for all HR Administration duties.
  • Review and keep up to date the HR Induction pack.
