The Hotel Reception Supervisor bridges the gap between Management and the Reception Team, ensuring the Front Office runs efficiently while keeping guests smiling.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Leadership: Lead daily check-in and check-out operations, ensuring the team provides a warm, efficient welcome and a seamless departure for every guest.
- Conflict Resolution: Act as the first point of contact for guest concerns, using high-level problem-solving skills to turn a negative experience into a positive one.
- Team Development: Assist Managing staff rotas and conducting training sessions on service standards, and mentor junior receptionists
- Financial Control: Oversee cash handling, float reconciliations, and ensure all guest billing is accurate before departure
- Revenue Support: Drive upselling initiatives (room upgrades, breakfast add-ons) and monitor room availability to maximise daily occupancy.
- System Management: Maintain the Property Management System (Hotsoft), ensuring guest profiles are updated and special requests are flagged for Housekeeping.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience: Typically, 2+ years in a front office role, with proven experience in a busy, high-standard environment
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in hotel software – Hotsoft is a distinct advantage
- Education: A Level 6 Certificate / Award in Hospitality Supervision or a Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS) designation is a major plus
- Soft Skills: A calm-under-pressure attitude and the ability to multitask between answering phones and greeting walk-ins.

HOTEL RECEPTIONISTS
The Park Hotel
The Hotel Receptionist position is based on-site at The Park Hotel in Dungarvan. You will work as part of the front office team to allow the smooth and efficient operations of the reception area by ensuring we exceed our customer’s expectations, and deal with all our guest interactions and queries in a professional, timely and courteous manner.
You will work closely with our Reservations Team and will have the support and assistance of a strong front office team.
Role Responsibilities
- Initially, fully familiarise yourself with the hotel layout, capacities and facilities, i.e. bedrooms, holiday homes, dining, bars, function suites, health club, etc.
- Become fully adept with the operating systems – Hotsoft, tablepath, phone system, payment systems, etc.
- Help to co-ordinate all functions of the Reception Team with a hands-on approach
- Always reinforce a customer-focused approach within the Reception Team
- Work with the Reception Team to ensure all guests have a positive experience by delivering a smooth check in and check out process
- Have a good local knowledge and familiarise yourself with local attractions, events, facilities, etc.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure booking information is shared and accurate
- Ensure quality of data is maintained within the booking system enabling accurate guest history and sales’ information
- Encourage guest feedback by interaction with the guest and addressing comments to ensure guest satisfaction and continuous improvement
- Actively address potential challenges in service standards
- Regularly visit and use the departmental SOPs – recommend updates when required

A 4 Hotel Breakfast Manager owns the “make or break” guest experience. Since breakfast is often the last impression before checkout, this role demands high energy, military precision, and an obsession with service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Orchestration: Lead the morning “rush,” managing table turn times and ensuring the buffet remains bountiful and Instagram-ready until the final guest departs
- Staff Command: Manage the morning roster, ensuring team members are briefed on VIPs, allergies, and the day’s expected “pinch points” based on occupancy
- Quality Guardianship: Conduct rigorous HACCP checks and ensure the kitchen and floor teams are perfectly aligned on food presentation
- Guest Relations: Move through the room to “read” tables, pre-empting needs (like a coffee refill before they ask) and neutralising complaints before guests leave the building
- Cost Control: Manage food wastage from the buffet and monitor labour costs against the morning’s cover count

You are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of breakfast service and preparing all food in time for opening.
Your duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring kitchen efficiency every morning while on duty
- Ensuring the kitchen is operating at optimal levels for breakfast

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the service offered by all team members is exceptional and memorable.
